Horse No 1 CELESTIAL COLOURS (H362) H Bowman When questioned regarding his riding in the early stages, H Bowman stated that the intention was to lead on the horse.
He said after commencing well he noticed JOY COMING to his inside being ridden vigorously by its rider L Hewitson.
He said approaching the first turn he was of the opinion he would have had to make use of his mount to cross JOY COMING and when he was satisfied that the pace of the event was sufficient to allow him to race outside of JOY COMING, he elected to remain to its outside.
He added that entering the Back Straight CELESTIAL COLOURS took some time to balance up and after being placed under pressure in the Home Straight CELESTIAL COLOURS' run ended near the 100 Metres.
He further stated that, in his view, the horse would derive benefit from tonight's performance.
Horse No 2 GREAT STATE (J124) K De Melo From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the race, K De Melo reported that his mount dipped on a number of occasions under pressure in the Home Straight and he had some concern with its action.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Before being allowed to race again, GREAT STATE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 3 KAHOLO ANGEL (H216) E C W Wong Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.
Raced keenly in the middle stages and near the 700 Metres got its head up when being checked away from WINGS OF WAR.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 WINGS OF WAR (H162) H Bentley Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 LESLIE (E471) K C Leung Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 7 ACT OF FAITH (H082) B Avdulla A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 CALIFORNIA CIBLE (E431) Y L Chung After arriving on course was found to have shifted its right hind plate.
This plate was refitted.
CALIFORNIA CIBLE was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to start.
Jumped awkwardly.
Raced keenly in the middle stages and near the 500 Metres was steadied away from WINGS OF WAR which shifted in slightly.
Horse No 9 CAPTAIN WIN (E466) K Teetan From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 10 JOY COMING (H149) L Hewitson After the race, L Hewitson stated that his instructions were to hold a forward position but had expected CELESTIAL COLOURS to lead the event.
He said he was obliged to ride his mount forward in the early stages to cross runners to his inside which resulted in JOY COMING going forward and leading.
